Dogwoods are blooming, my iris bulbs are beginning to sprout and the temperature is a lovely 84 degrees today. I met some of my girlfriends for lunch and we feasted outside on the breezeway. Their was a perfect breeze to keep up cool, the sun was shining and everything is better when you meet up with friends for lunch on a Friday!
We did overhear a woman asking for a more private table because she was meeting up with her ex-boyfriend and they needed more privacy. Classic example of TMI. Weirdly, she was carrying a black case that resembled a flute case, which we were hoping didn't house a gun to off the ex.

Welcome Autumn!
Today is the first day of Autumn, and I'm so glad it's finally here! When I went outside this morning, it was a lovely 66 degrees and not at all humid, which is a nice relief after over 50 days of 100 degree weather! The weather forecast for the week and weekend is not to exceed 91 degrees, which should make all you folks going to ACL very happy.
I will admit, I already have my fireplace mantel decorated for Fall. I purchased leaf garland in Autumn colors and placed a few crow figurines on it as well. As I've mentioned before, I love Halloween and really, any excuse to decorate. I told my hubby and I was just testing the placement of my autumn purchases a few weeks ago, but I had no intention of putting them away until October! I've been scouting places like Ross and Marshall's on good deals for decorations (and thanks to all you gals giving me Michael's coupons!).
I'm excited to wear my new fall coats and skinny jeans with boots. I'm excited to go to the Renaissance Festival, Oktoberfest and other Fall-themed venues. My hubby is all excited to do a bundled-up boat cruise this year. He wants us to dress warm, go out on the boat with a bunch of wine and appetizers and listen to good music. Any takers?
I'm also excited because I can justify buying Starbucks lattes on mornings that are pretty chilly! Can I interest anyone in doing a bonfire one night as it gets cooler with all the fixin's (smores, etc.)?
