Another busy 3-day weekend! I was lucky enough to have Friday off, so I took advantage of sleeping in till 9am. I got my butt in gear and headed to the gym for a Body Flow class and then headed over to the grocery store to pick up provisions for the birthday party/4th of July party going on at my casa on Saturday. Holy cow, the store was a madhouse! People were zooming in and out of aisles with blatant disregard for their fellow shoppers. I had my list in hand and even so, I finished up in about an hour. I also had to pick up a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for the birthday girl. It was 102 degrees outside and I was praying the whole way home that the damn cake didn't melt!
I made it home and unpacked and Hubby called to tell me they were just starting playing the back nine and would be home in about 2 hours. Him and a friend went golfing on Willie's course and had quite an experience. From golfers without shirts to raunchy bets and lots of beer. Needless to say they had a fun time. For the rest of the day I lounged out by the pool and read more Sookie books. Later than evening we headed to PF Changs for dinner, which was delicious as usual.
Saturday started off with a bang as the pool party commenced at noon. We had a ton of food and drinks and wonderful company. We swam all day and laughed and waited for the fireworks to start around 9:15pm. A neighbor friend does a wonderful fireworks display on his own dime each year, so we had private front row seats and didn't have to fight for parking or be bothered by unruly crowds. Party lasted until a little after midnight when the remaining few called it a night.
Sunday started off with a yummy group breakfast and then we headed back to the pool to lay out all day. Other friends came over to help us eat the overabundance of food and by 6pm Hubby and I were vegging on the couch watching movies to unwind. Gotta love 3 day weekends!

Sounds like a fun weekend! You really seem to know how to put on a party;)
I do love me a party! I've always enjoyed the whole production of putting on a party. Should make it a side business!
