Here's How You Know It Will Be A Good Day

When you pay for your daily Starbucks fix, and they tell you that you were chosen to complete a survey... and you'll get a free drink (any size) as a reward!! Sometimes I am so easy to please.

But I am rather bummed that I just found out that Gavin DeGraw is playing tonight and the concert is sold out, and that Lady GaGa tickets have already sold out, too!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday night consisted of me running around like a chicken with my head cut off as I was trying to prepare for the baby shower I was hosting on Saturday. Let me tell you, don't ever bother making angel food cake. It's a temperamental bitch to make and it's way less stress to buy one from the grocery store! Everything else turned out well, and it was my first time making royal icing for sugar cookies. I finally called it a night around 1am.

Saturday I got up early to finish getting the food ready and to pack the car. Luckily, a few of the girls came early to help me set up. The shower was a success and we played games such as "Guess the Baby Food" and "My Water Broke," which consists of plastic babies encased in ice and the first person to break the baby out wins! The food was good, company was awesome and E got some really great gifts for the twins as well. I was utterly exhausted afterwards and went home to lounge in bed the rest of the evening.

Sunday got up and went to the outlet malls with another pregnant friend. We were on a maternity clothes mission and we were very successful! C. got a little overwhelmed right away, so I started pulling items that I though she would like and would flatter her ever-growing bust! She made out with quite a haul and I got her her first baby toy, this adorable stuffed giraffe. We had to control ourselves at the kiddie stores, because they don't know the sex of the baby yet. Needless to say, once they do, we'll be making a second trip to the outlets! After I got home, hubby and I grilled up some chicken and relaxed in the hot tub.

I also got a call from our roofer and it looks like our roof may be being replaced late this week, so I'm anticipating a headache for those three days!

Back To Reality

Sadly, every wonderful vacation must come to an end. I'm back home now, and trying to will my stubborn fingers how to type properly again. I think they are protesting not being on vacation! Not that I can blame them, our trip to Cozumel was amazing and it's sad that we had to leave our little cozy cocoon of a honeymoon and come back to reality.

In the most ironic of situations, we had boarded our flight and we were all ready to go, when the captain's voice comes on the loudspeaker to inform us they forgot the routine maintenance check the night before and we would have to deboard and it would take up to 1 hour to complete the task. I mean, it only took us 3 1/2 years to go on the honeymoon, what's another hour?! We were ticked off, and ended up missing our connector flight, so we didn't arrive in Cozumel until 2pm. We went straight to the hotel, checked in, got our bearings and booked our activities for the week.

We crashed early that night after hitting the buffet and slept a solid 10 hours. We then hit the beach all day Saturday. The weather was perfect, a nice breeze was blowing to keep us cool. We hit the buffet again for dinner and caught the show that evening at the resort.

Sunday Hubby went diving, and I indulged in a mud massage and foot reflexology. It was heaven! We spent the rest of the day lounging and being lazy. It was awesome!

Monday we went to the national park and swam with the dolphins. We got to give them kisses and hugs, and they did a foot push on us. It was amazing, and both dolphins, Shadia and Scarlett were pregnant. They were very good sports and very friendly. We also went snorkeling in the park, which was beautiful. Water was very clear and you could rent their equipment for cheap. We also rented a Jeep and cruised around to the other side of the island and took some great pictures. We ventured into town for some light shopping and a wonderful sunset dinner.

Tuesday we chilled at the beach and then went on a catamaran snorkeling cruise. Saw some sea turtles, trigger and puffer fish, as well as a huge grouper. Had lunch at a private beach and picked up an awesome shell necklace that was handmade. Hubby got a Cuban cigar and was very happy.

Wednesday was our last day, and we relaxed at the beach and then had to head back to pack up. Due to customs, etc, they require you to be at the airport three hours early, which stunk. It took us a grand total of 15 minutes to clear customs and then we just had to sit and wait. The trip was amazing, and hubby and I really enjoyed each other's company. We did have a fight over my inability to read a map, but I was actually doing quite well reading it. I think Hubby was just nervous about the rental car getting hit or something!

I'm sad to be home, but ready to get back into the swing of things. I've got a baby shower this weekend and lots of food shopping and cooking to do!

Viva La Mexico!!!

Oh hot damn, the last day of work before our trip! Our flight leaves at 7:30am, and we'll be soaking up the sun by 11am. It's my wish that when the resort shuttle picks us up, we'll be greeted with a cool and refreshing pina colada. It's about a twenty minute ride from the airport to the hotel, and you can be sure I'll be snapping pictures along the way.

I purchased a 2GB memory card for my camera and I'm hoping to capture some really great sunset and possibly sunrise photos. Hubby plans to do some diving and I am bringing along a few books to read while I lounge in the sun. Ahh, I can almost smell the ocean now! We also plan on renting a jeep and touring the East side of the island. Many of the reviews I've read say that the current is stronger on that side, so we'll probably just check it out and forgo any swimming.

A stop at the national park to swim with dolphins is also on our to-do list, as well as visiting some local ruins. A stop at Alberto's for the famous fish taco's is also a must. This last day of work is going to be torture!

It's One of Those Days...

Ugg, thank god I only have one more day of work before my trip. I'm seriously on the fringe of losing it. Good news, I managed to find some board shorts for my trip!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Oh yes, Friday night did consist of C., S., and I going to the Twilight release party at Blockbuster! We strolled in wearing our Team Edward shirts (by far the best looking ones) and attempted to throw elbows to win the trivia questions. Damn those little middle-schoolers for being up front! Even the fact I towered over the kids did not help our attempt to answer questions like "What does blood smell like to Bella? (rust and salt for you non-readers!).

It was quite laugh-worthy as we purchased special collector edition Sweethearts with the characters on the box. They will come in quite handy for our Twilight viewing party next month (ok, seriously, stop laughing). The place was packed with probably about 100 people, mostly with kids in middle and highschool. They really needed to be cranking the air conditioning because so many hormonal, pre-pubescent kids made that place a hotbox. It was sweaty and stinky and I'd like to take this moment and do a PSA for teenagers of America: Please, for the love of God, shower each and every morning! You kids were the stinkiest kids ever and it was disgusting. If someone labels you "uncool" for having good personal hygiene, don't worry about it! Those are the kids who end up working in McDonald's smelling like greasy hamburgers and french fries anyways.

Saturday was the first round of baby showers for our friend E., who is expecting twins this May. The ranch it was held out was breathtaking and I didn't want to leave the party. It was so relaxing and the weather was wonderful. The food was amazing and the games were fun. I was hoping the onesie I decorated would win, but alas, the Two Peas In The Pod won. Righteously so. After the party, I was so exhausted from a late night of Twilighting on Friday, I went home and slept for three hours. Hubby tried to get me energized to go downtown and enjoy a night of SXSW, but I declined. Instead, I made chocolate chip cookies, ate the dough, and watched The Holiday in bed with my chihuahua. And I drooled over how cute Jude Law was. Wow, I sound wicked lame reading that last part!

Sunday I went to Yoga only to find our normal instructor was out, and a sub was teaching that day. She sucked. I managed to make it about an hour and bailed because she had a very rushed technique and she normally doesn't teach the hour and a half classes. So then I headed to the grocery store to stock up on items for our Mexico trip. Only 4 more days to go! Later that evening T. invited us over for some amazing fajitas and good company. And birthday cake, which always makes a good end to the weekend.

Team Edward/ Team Jacob

Back in full effect baby! Midnight is the release of the Twilight movie on DVD and I'm wondering if that fact I'm contemplating going to the release party at Borders tonight makes me totally lame. Oh well, who cares?! I could win some free swag, laugh my butt off and have fun, so I'm in. Who's with me?!!!!!!

Hello......anybody??
