The First Lady

So I was watching some political based shows the other night and they were talking about Laura Bush's busy schedule, etc,etc. As I drifted in and out of caring, a thought came to me. If I were to become The First Lady, what kind of duties and activities would I be involved with.

First, let me say this, I would not schedule anything before 10am. I would definitely not be waking up at the crack of dawn to fulfill my "First Lady" duties, that's for darn sure.

Secondly, I would speak about the environment and the damage we are causing at our current rates of consumption, deforestation,etc. I guess this means I would have to stop buying plastic water bottles, eat only organic foods, and plant trees on Arbor Day every year. I'm okay with that, I'm pretty sure I'd have people do do that stuff for me anyways.

Third, I would work to raise greater awareness for animals. Not just your friendly dogs and cats, but polar bears, penguins, pandas, etc. Animals that may not be around by the time my children's children grow up. So sad. I'd also try to mandate all animals are spayed and neutered and the death penalty for puppy mills.

Last, I'd tackle literacy/language issues. No more lazy slang, say the whole damn word!! It only takes few seconds more, I promise. I'd make sure children could pass a reading exam in every grade, starting in kindergarten. Not getting the alphabet, don't worry, free of cost we'll provide a tutor.

One more thought, I'd also make it mandatory that every household in America has a full-length mirror in their house. This will eliminate people dressing crazy and not matching, etc. This will, in turn, make the world a prettier and happier place to be. (Don't you love dreaming!)
