Someone's got a case of the Mondays! Why does the weekend have to pass so quickly and the work-week just seems to drag on and never end? Such a shame.
So this weekend I took it pretty easy, mostly because we anticipated getting some heavy rains from Hurricane Ike (which we so desperately needed). Lo and behold, we got zilch. Nada, nothing, no rain and barely any winds. With no rains in sight, we felt lazy just laying around and watching movies like we had planed.
On Saturday we spent all day with family and around our uncle who is about to pass on from cancer. I don't want to bring the mood down, but please remember to get your skin-cancer check at least once a year. If you have a family history or are in the sun excessively, think about going twice a year. I get checked religiously being that I am a sun worshiper and lived in Florida for so long.
On Sunday we cleaned the house and did some other chores and then spent some time relaxing out in the beautiful weather on the back deck. I read two books; The Dogs of Babylon and The Third Witch. The first book was a little odd and I really enjoyed the second book.
I did get notice this morning that our famed Cougar is back on the prowl for water!
