I'm Back!!!

What a whirlwind these past six days have been! I went through withdrawals not seeing my girls and creating new blog posts, but I made it past the shakes and was in pure heaven spending time with my family.

As most of you know, I went back home to visit my grandmother who was under the weather and spend some quality time with family. My grandmother had several strokes a few years back and unfortunately, was robbed of the ability to speak clearly. She has come a long way, thanks to my grandfather, and can speak a few words and is really great at pantomime! She had been disoriented, not sleeping well and just plain crappy, and I felt it was imperative to go spend time with her. The doctor said her ticker was damaged by the strokes and she wasn't getting enough oxygen in her system, so now they have her on oxygen. She can still move around and is so funny with the faces she makes.

My mother was dealing with her court case the first two days of my trip, so I wasn't able to see her much. Unfortunately, she lost her case. It's a shame what a state-run university can get away with. Oh well, eff'em!!

I spent a lot of quality bonding time with my sister, which was wonderful. We saw a bunch of chick flicks, had dinners, played with cute puppies at the pet store. My band friends from Orlando were even in town one night playing a gig and we went to watch them! I'll post some photos and video tomorrow.

We did go to the beach, but the damn hurricanes and tropical storms have recently taken their toll and the beach was almost gone! The water was crashing into the local restaurants because the water level was so high. It was quite amazing and a bit of a bummer. We did frolick in the waves a bit and take lots of pictures, so it wasn't a total bust.

But I'm back in town now and ready for the karaoke party this weekend! Ahem, Ahem. I'll be clearing my throat all week and sipping on honey tea so ya'll better watch out this weekend!
